Treatment of Warts.

Common warts are local growths in the skin that are caused by human papillomavirus (HPV) infection. Although they are considered to be contagious, regarding the treatment of warts, it is very common for just one family member to have them. In addition, they often affect just one part of the body (such as the hands or the feet) without spreading over time to other areas. Although, remember spreading is possible.

There are many types of warts, including:

The treatment of warts, especially the Common wart.

Common Wart

Common warts. These usually occur on the fingers, hand, knees, and elbows. They are bumpy and grayish-brown. They may have black dots that look like “seeds” in the center.

There are many over the counter treatments available for the treatment of warts, especially the common wart. Doctors may tell you just to leave these warts alone as they will just disappear on their own. However some people are infected quite heavily and may prefer to obtain a treatment for them as soon as they appear. These warts are easily cleared up with a visit to the chemist.

Treatment of warts, in this case the flat wart.

Flat Wart

Flat warts. These are usually warts on the face. They are flat and pink. Irritation from shaving may contribute to flat warts in men. In women, they may also appear on the legs for this reason. They often grow in clusters. These warts may also seem to infect young people too.

Sometimes instant treatment of warts may not be necessary as your own body immune system should be able to fight off the virus causing them. If the flat warts have not gone within say 4 months, then you may wish to start a treatment plan. The treatment of warts, in this case the flat wart is sometimes quite difficult because they are very small and tend to manifest themselves in tight clusters, this clustering also allows them to re infect very easily.

Choices of treatment of warts could be….

Moist Patches, salicylic acid, cryotherapy, liquid nitrogen, electro surgery and pulsed laser shots.

Treatment of Warts , this is the Plantar

Plantar

Plantar warts. These are on the bottom of the feet. They are uncomfortable, like walking on a small stone. Each time the foot is put down, as in walking, the Plantar is pressed into the flesh. The body uses it’s natural defense and builds up tough skin to try to protect the foot from hurting.

Plantar Warts should be kept covered as each time the foot is put down the wart virus may be left on the floor, this is mostly the case in wet areas such as the bathroom.

Salicylic acid patches are a good method for treating these warts, however the above treatments may also be employed.

Treatment of warts can be annoying to anyone. This information is about the treatment of common warts. It does not apply to genital or venereal warts. Over-the-counter treatment for common skin warts has long been based upon the use of products containing salicylic acid. Newer nonprescription wart treatments use aerosols to freeze warts.

Salicylic-acid preparations

These are available as drops, gels, pads, and plasters. They are designed for application to all kinds of warts, from tiny ones to great, big lumpy ones. Salicylic acid is a keratolytic medication, which means it dissolves the protein (keratin), which makes up most of both the wart and the thick layer of dead skin that often tops it.

Nonprescription freezing methods

Aerosol wart treatments available over-the-counter use sprays that freeze warts at a temperature of minus 70 F (minus 57 C). This compares with the liquid nitrogen used by most dermatologists, which is considerably colder (minus 320 F or minus 196 C).

Treatment of warts, duct tape is oftenused.

Duct Tape

It is claimed that warts can be “suffocated” by covering them with duct tape or other non breathing tape, such as electrical tape. This treatment is hard to use, however, because in order to work, the tape must be left in place all the time and removed only a few hours once per week. Almost always, the tape falls off.
